URGENT: OPT pending for approval since 5 months

Hello everyone,

I have graduated in September-2012 and applied for OPT in August-12. My application for OPT work authorization has reached USCIS in August-2012. It has been 5 months now since i have submitted my application and the status still shows "Initial Review" in USCIS website. I don't have an EAD card as my OPT is not approved and need to travel outside the country in the month of February. All i have is valid F-1 visa, valid OPT i20(signed by college), I-797C(which has my OPT application receipt number).

Could you please advice if re-entry to US will be an issue in such case?

My application is with California service center. Is anyone else facing same problem with their OPT approval pending?

Can i Travel to US when my OPT Extension is under process & Previous OPT EAD has Expired

URGENT:
Can I reenter into the US without any problem when OPT extension is in-process showing proof of applying (Receipt Notice) ?

Note: Previous OPT EAD expired on Dec 16th 2012, I have applied OPT Extension application on on Sep27th 2012.Still OPT extension application is under processing and status showing as RFE and I have received my RFE. I have my valid I-20 (6 Months back).

What problems would we face at immigration?

Please guys can u help me out.Can i Re-Enter into US in the above case?
 
My opt applied for 65 days still in initinal review

HI,

I have the similar case as you did. I applied OPT on May 27th, until now it is still showing initial review. I called them to expedite my case and I got rejected after a week. My original starting work date was on May 3rd.
What did you do to help them processing your case? It is really getting too long? Thanks.
