Urgent- Need advice using AP

Gurus,

I need to go to India for family emergency (bereavement). I have an AP which expire on Jan 30 , 2003 and my company had applied for an extension of AP in NOV 2002, which hasn't been approved yet.

Can I travel using my current AP ? Does applying for a new AP in any way affect my current AP? will there be any problem coming back?

Also if you can let me know what all documents they ask for when re entering using AP.

Any inputs/suggestions appreciated.

I am not a lawyer but I think you will be ok as long as u come back before yr AP expires. Infact yr AP might be extended at the point of entry.
