Urgent! Need advice regarding 485 approval and travel on AP.

A friend of mine recieved email notificaiton of his 485 approval today.
He hasn't recieved approval notice in the mail yet,
he has just recieved email notification.
He had planned an India trip and his ticket is booked for tomorrow,scheduled to
return on 4th of Jan. Can he go to India and come back on AP or shoud he cancel his
trip and get the I-551 stamping done?
Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
 
I've read some experience like your friend's case in this forum. In short, no problem!! He is approved as a permant resident and he got AP!!!

he can travel on his AP and continue with his trip without 551 stamp
