URGENT!!!! Need advice on 485 RFE

Hi,
I received an RFE on my 485. Its from NSC stating that they want me to send my ORIGINAL PASSPORT for verification. My lawyer says its very uncommon and has never seen such a RFE in his service.

Did anyone receive similar RFE, If yes, can you please advice why they need original passport.

USCIS asks for original document only when they have doubt about the authenticity and legitimacy about the original document. There could be many reason behind that

- your passport photocopies were not clear.
- whether you are really possessing this passport or not.
- they have past record of same passport with diffrent name.
