iam on h4 visa and my husband is on h1b visa,he is in US and iam in india,iam planning to come to states this november but my husband is planning to apply for I-485 this july for both of us and asked me to come over to US for the same during july 2007,i would like to go back to india as soon as possible to complete my graduation,i would like to know how long it will take for me to receive the recepit of I-485 and whether i should be physically present in US till i receive the receipt or can i get back after applying,i would also like to know whether i can authorise my husband to collect the recepit on my behalf,is it true that iam not suppose to leave the united states untill i get the I-485 receipt if so is there any way i can get my receipt quickly,please reply at the earliest.
