urgent: how to cancel H1->H4

I filed my H1->H4 on 9/12/2002; however, I got an offer today. If offer is finalized and company would like to sponsor H1 for me, I'd like to go for premium H1 processing. Could someone kindly tell me what's the best way to cancel my H1->H4 petition most efficiently? Although making phone call to INS seems efficient, any written docs needed to ensure this?

Write a letter to the service center requesting that the petition be cancelled. Be certain that you keep a copy of the letter and send it in a manner that provides proof of delivery. Call the service center every week or so after you send the letter, speak to an IIO and verify that the case has been cancelled. If the IIO requests you to send another request, do so. Keep documents of all these conversations and letters in case INS approves the COS. This is not an easy situation and you need to keep on them. If INS approves the case you will need to send a request to correct a service error.
