The following is the response that I received from a member of this regarding the number of birth and marriage affidavits to be got for filing I485.

Hi ,
Your lawyer is correct. If you have your original birth certificate
with all the neccessary information but with little spelling mistakes and
so.. you can get one affidavit from your mother or close relatives if
you are not in a position to get it from the mother. If you dont have
the birth certificate of if you can not get one from the municipality,
then you need to get un obtainable letter from the municipality and 2
affidavits from your mother and close relation stating the date, place of
birth sworning in front of the notary. Hope this helps you. Please

Do u know how many birth affidavits and marriage affidavits needs to be
submitted for I-485 filing?
I just have one affidavit, apart from the original birth and marriage
certificate, that has names with initials and few spelling mistakes.
My attorney says that one affidavit for marriage and one for birth is
enough. But in murthy.com chat and in forums, I read that atleast 2
affidavits are necessary.
Do u have any idea on this?
