Hi,

NVC just completed the review. What is exactly the next step? and how do I know whether the embassy received the application or not? it is still up int he air whether the embassy will accept to process my application or send me to my original country for processing. If they schedule me for a date, is there any chance that they might reject me after the interview and ask me to go to my original country of birth?

please advise.

thanks,
syriano

syriano,

It usually takes NVC to tranfer to the embassy in 10-15 days.
You will know from your case # ( First 3 letters of the case # is the city code ), as well as from NVC's AVM regarding which embassy they have sent your file.

But I am not sure of your case, as from your posting it looks
you might have requested your CP interview from country other than your country of bith.

NVC processes montreal cases slightly differently resulting in a much longer time before the case is sent to the consulate. i belive montreal is considered an 'alpha plus' consulate meaning that the NVC does more of the clerical work for them. the time from P3 completion to interview date, however, is similar to other consulates (check CP tracker, 10-12 weeks).

my wife is a canadian LPR and i am a citizen. our lawyer (working at a large immigration firm) has assured us that there will be no issues for my wife at the montreal consulate due to her lack of citizenship.
