My best friend wife won visa lottery as single , and they are both legally married since 2010 , i want your advice on what they will both do , on there interview, there interview is comming on 4th september ,
What do you think that her wife should say if they ask why does she enter as single when is legally married

one's Fadited

When she applied, she was legally married?

She will have to tell them the truth, and then they will probably ask why she made a false claim (that she was single).

I suspect this isn't good, as it's basically a lie from the beginning. From what I have read they can deny the visa on grounds like providing the incorrect information.

Just my thoughts.

Hi,
Howz yah? Did he/she include the spouse and the children (if apllicable) in his/her DS-230 and passport size photosx2? I hope everything nice coz if he/she did so, that very normal.
In other words, If the letter doesn't show any benefficiaries let him/her not dare to go wid any one else in his/her interview.
I know he/she will get a visa..........if he/she stick wid the word "single" coz thatz wat he/she entered then later will get married when oversea and his/her family will get another different kind of immigrant visas.
Good luck

A lie during the DV process will catch up with you

You cannot lie that you are single if you are married legally, that is surely not what you are suggesting they do?

She entered the lottery as single.....true or false? True.......If her papers never shows that she's married, how can they know she is married? Also how do they know that you're married without the Marr cert, how can yu prove yu're married? They can only know yu're cheating if yu contradict wat yu say............single sometimes I av a e\wife n' children.

I do not know if she was single when she applied, if she was, and she is now married, then nothing to worry about, produce evidence of marriage and all is good.

But...the writer wrote

"My best friend wife won visa lottery as single , and they are both legally married since 2010"

So when did she win the lottery? If it was before 2010 she would have had her interview already, so I assume she won the lottery recently and entered as a single woman when it fact she was married.

That is why I have stated that if you put single on your visa and you were actually married, that is a lie to the US immigration, pure and simple. They are risking getting a visa so many people apply for honestly. Even if the visa is given, who is to say they can get a visa for their spouse later on?

Now if the women applied, and then got married since the application, then she just needs to notify them and follow the procedure that I am sure is in place for this.

I suspect however that 'single' was written when in fact they were really 'married'.

It is fraudulent to lie to them.

that's a very serious problem ,a friend of mine got his Visa denied just because he did not include his littel baby on the main application when he applied,so the only solution is that he/she carries on the process as a single if not he/she would probably get denied due to presenting false information.

Thanks for your genuine respond.

The woman in question included her husband data and their wedding date in DS-230. And the husband is a beneficiary in the notification of interview letter. They have no child.

Both of them secretly went to court to wed but the real traditional wedding which is recognised by the parents and their tradition was done after dvisa registration.

My own interview experience was that " I registered as married while my marriage certificate read a date after registration. During my interview I told CO that I had married traditionally which is the major marriage in my culture and living with my wife, but went and formalize it after the registration.
My traditional and court wedding pictures were shown to the CO and we were given the Visa.

Dear forumite, what is the best answer to their expected question concerning their marriage.

Best regards,
