Urgent help regarding AP !!

My RD is Oct 10th 2001 and EAC # -02-050-xxxxx. I received EAD and AP on Jan 02. It's valid till Dec 2002. Moreover my H1 is valid till Nov 02.
Now I moved to India office through same employer on Feb 2002. Now I don't have job in USA. I am in indian payrole. I am expecting my approval anytime...When I checked AVM, it still says application is under processing...

Now my indian employer asking me to go to USA office for 3 weeks job for knowledge transfer.

Can I use AP for coming to USA at port of entry???

Some people are telling if I am outside USA for more than 6months, I should not get in to USA using AP. Is it true??

Now I am in India for almost 8 months.

Dont risk it.

GC is for future job -- So if the job offering on which your I-485 is based is available for you, then you can use the AP to come to USA.

But if the job opening is not open and you have abandoned USA as your permanent residence (which seems to be your case) -- You are not eligible for using AP.

Using H-1 may be safer -- But talk to an attorney first.
