Hi Guys
I sent my pp for revalidation to St. Louis in August, and since I have to go to India in 2nd week of September I faxed DC office to withdraw my application.
I finally got my PP today(ofcourse without new Visa), but they stamped "Cancelled Without Prejudice" on my Old visa which is valid until sept 30th 2003.
Question is when I go to India and want to get visa extension, would this (Cancelled without prejudice) be a problem. Did anyone withdraw their revalidation application before, and did they get a similar stamp.

thanks

Hi xyz987,

I don't think it will create any problem,
i read in couple of other posts where people have their old visa stamped with "Cancelled Without Prejudice" for those who sent for revalidation to St. Louis .

If you don't mind can you please let me know how long it took for you to withdraw the passport, On what date did you faxed the letter of withdrawl ? and what date you got your passport.

Thanks
Raj

hi raj

Hi raj..
here is what i did.. :)
* st. louis received date - august 4th.
* sent first fax letter to withdraw on august 26th.
* called DC office on sept 2nd to find out abt my passport, after calling couple of times, one of the visa specialist finally cared to look at my case, and said that they didnt have my passport yet. Also said that my first fax will be discarded as they dont have my application when i faxed them.
* called DC again on Sept 3rd to find out if they have my application. and this time she said, they do have my passport.. and asked me to fax the withdrawal letter again. So i faxed it again on 3rd sept.
* got my passport on 5th.. dont know if it was coz of the first fax or the second one.
thanks

That by itself should not be a problem. Even if you go to the US consulates in India, they might do the same!
