Urgent help needed ! Please Gurus read and advise
One of mine friend Applied I-485 in June/2001, got out of project same month.
Remained without project and salary for 9 months, even after receiving EAD in Sep,2001. Kept moving to different friends because he lost all savings in stock...:)
Finally he got a job on EAD in Chicago,IL in May,02 with a little less salary..
He never told his previous company about this job change, mean he never resigned because he thought that company or it's lawyer can spoil the 485...and because they were not paying him so he did not filed resign.

Now the problem is his 485 is nowhere near approval , and EAD is expiring in 2 months, he called IIO 3 weeks back after I insisted him to do so......IIO told him it is pending.
what I am suggesting him now , go for address change, and EAD renewal as early as possible, but he wants to wait another 2, 3 weeks , because he is afraid his service center will be changed from VSC to NSC.
Does any body there who moved across the service centers. Any suggestions can really help to guide a fellow who already faced a lot of problems. .....thanks"

Any body there who moved across service centeres

Any body there who moved from one service centre area to other while I-485 is pending , what will happen if submitted change of address form, Please ....please respond.I am going to file a:confused:

I moved from California to New Hampshire while waiting for my approval. The company in California closed down, fortunately I was allowed to stay until my 180 days were done, and I got a similar job in NH.
I did not file any address change until I got RFE, about two months after the move. I had no trouble with getting my approval, but I had to get a letter from my new employer, describing my job and confirming the dates.
Unfortunately I cannot give any advice, only tell my own experience.

my 2 cents

I cannot tell about cross service centres,
what I can tel you is
that your friend needs 2-3 months continuous pay stubs provided he gets a RFE,
it may or *may* not matter much that he is out of pay.
technically speaking in H-1B the moment you are not recieving pay you are out of pay, but since he has EAD it could be another story.

Anyway what i would do is file change of address, resign with the existing company and keep quiet till I get RFE.

Thank you for response guys

COBWEBS ! Can you tell what was your RFE ?
And what dates you are talking about when you said , letter from new company describing job and confirmation of "dates"

One more very important question ! Did you get your approval from CSC , If yes how did you get stamped , you travelled back to CA ?

Thanks in advance
