I do not know where should I have put this message, so I am posting it here, in the hope that I get an answer or a pointer to the right place from wonderful people on this forum.
I have a problem. The name of my mother is not correct on my passport. When I was getting my passport made in India. I had some agent help me filling the form. At that time I was not very serious and did not bother to check anything except fathers name and DOB in the form. I got the passport just for the sake of having it that time.
Somehow, after 3-4 years later, I landed in US on H1.
I also got my 485 approved recently. Now when I started planning to bring my parents here, that I realised, will there be a problem with incorrect name.
I do not know, how to get it corrected. I have not checked with Indian consulate in SFO, but do you think theywill be able to help ?
Or anyother ideas how that it could be rectified ?
I am very much desperate and any helpful comments from you guys will be highly appreciated.
