Hi,
here is my situation. Appreciate your advice:

* I am on hourly W2 with my employer. No bench policy.
* I have filed my green card through the same employer in 2004.
* I-140 is approved and current H visas (3 yrs) are valid till 2011.
* My EAD expired in 2008 and it's not renewed since then.
* Even if EAD is renewed, I was told I can't use it because my family who is on H4 and not yet applied for I-485, will go out of status as use of EAD invalidates H1 and so H4.
* My assignment with last client was terminated on last week Mar09 due to lay-offs at client place
* My employer has indicated to revoke my H1 immdiately after client assignment was over
* I have applied for leave without pay for 4 weeks - employer will hold my H1 till last week Apr09
* I am looking for job for past 4 weeks and no luck yet. It's been 2 weeks without pay now.

What are my options?
* Can I transfer my H visa to new employer who may have possible jobs?
* Will H1 transfer get affected if there is a pay gap?
* If H1 is transferred, will that affect my green card?
* Whenever green card date will become current, Can I file I-485 for my family while i am working with new employer?
* Can I renew my EAD now? Can I work while waiting for EAD?
* Is EAD employer specific?
* If my current employer revokes the H1, does it impact my green card?
* After current employer revoke my H1, can that same employer reinstate that H1 if I manage to maintain my status with another employer meanwhile?

I am totally confused. Appreciate your prompt response.

Thanks!
