Urologist

Hi Friends,
I am stuck with a very lazy attorney...I need your advice .
I am a Urologist doing a fellowship now in Toronto on a work permit. I used to be in the US on a J1 visa. I have a job in US to start July 1 and going now through a J1 waiver process. My application is still at the department of health in PA. I called them today and it will take another 2 weeks for the application to be sent to the DOS.
-Can you guide me how long it will take after that to finish this process. Can I make it July 1.
-I am trying to apply for an H1B interview in advance in Toronto and I need the I-797. Do you know when I get this form in the process.
- Can I book an interview now with out having I 797.
-How long it takes now to get an interview in Toronto.
-How long you have to wait to get the visa after you interview.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Cutting it close, but you should be fine. Make sure you file for premium processing for the I129.

Don't know.

Don't they use this online system for appointments ? Check in some of the other h1b related forums on this site, many of the IT guys go through canada for their visas and there should be some posts with the information you are looking for.

I have no experience with the consular posts in canada. In my home country, you either get the visa stuck in the passport an hour or two after the interview, or you get the passport mailed back within a day or two.
Your mileage may vary, particularly if you are from a country with strained relations to the US.

Another question friends,
How long the H1b visa will be valid for (1,2,3..years) ???
Will it be multiple entery or single entry ???

3 years, multiple entry. You take the small stub at the bottom of your H1b approval and staple it into your passport (in addition to the I94 if it is an extension of stay). If you change employers, you have to take the new approval notice with you.

Entering the US on a H1b is a world different from the quiz-show you can get on other non-immigrant visas. (The only thing they ever cared to know is 'do you still work for x_x ltd. ?')
