Hello and thanks for reading this.
I had received a response from the Canadian consulate on March 11th requesting me to get my PCC and medical exam done. However it isn’t till today when I read the response carefully that I realized that I had overlooked at the timeframe for sending a response back to Canadian consulate with the required documents.

The time limit for PCC and current employer verification letter is 90 days from March 11th and the time limit of medical is 60 days from March 11th. My Indian PCC is still in process and I will mail FBI for PCC tomorrow. I am hoping to get both Indian and FBI PCC done before June 11th (90 days) which will reach the Consulate in time, but I am scared if the medical exam results will reach the consulate on time that is May 11th. In addition, I recently got married and I have also notified Canadian consulate for the marital status change and have requested to send spouse’s medical exam document. Haven’t received it yet.

My question:
1) Are the Canadian consulates folks ok with late submissions?
2) How long does the doctor take to complete medical examination and submit report to
Consulate?
3) Do I need to send a letter to Consulate requesting for extension of time?
4) Is it ok to send my medical results before spouse’s?
5) Since I have to submit PCC document and current employment letter, is it ok if I send that separately without medical exam result since I won’t be able to get PCC done before May 11th.

Please advice!!!

1) Send them a fax with the reason for late submission. Usually tehy grant extra time. (They gave me extra 90 days for medical)
2) Depends on the doctor
3) Yes, send a letter/fax. better to keep them informed.
4) Should be ok. I am not sure though.
5) That should be fine. That is what I did.

Laborispainfule, thank you so much for the prompt reply. However regarding the extension of time, how did you get a confirmation from the consulate that your processing time was extended? Did you get a fax reply or mail reply from the consulate? What was your reason for the extension?

Also, if I do send them the fax today, what are the chances of them granting the extension before my deadline of May 11th? Is the grant of time extension a case by case deal?

Thank you

I didnt ask for extension. I was planning to do so, but before I could do that, they sent me a letter saying that they have not received my medical and they are giving me 90 days more to send it to them. To be on the safe side, I would send them a fax/letter explaining that FBI check is taking 2-3 months now, so you need extra time to get your documents together.

Good luck!
