Urgent Help - H4 is expiring and H1b is approved but start date is after expired H4

My H4 is expiring in July'08. Meanwhile I got job and my H1 got approved and starting from 1 OCT 08. Now question I have is
(1) I am in US presently and not planning to travel out side, Can I apply for H4 extension so that I am not out of status between July'08 and OCT'08. From 1 OCT 08 I can start work and resum H1 status, Is it possible?

(2) As my H1 is already approved, will extension of H4 make in problem on it?

Help will be appreciated. I am in big dilema right now.

The best thing for you is to extend the current H-4 to fill the gap (July to September 2008).
