Gurus Please Help!!!

My I-94 card that I got when I entered U.S is lost.
I got my I-485 approved and I have to go to the local INS (Milwaukee) for passport stamping.

Has anybody had any similar experiences. What will the local INS do in such a case. Is there any other document that I can take which will be a substitute for my missing I-94.Any input is appreciated.

FYI..I have all the other I-94s that came along with my H1-Bs and also have a photocopy of the missing I-94.

I think you should just go to INS with the copies of I-94 and ask them.

Since the I-94\'s are probably recorded in their system, I am sure it is not a problem for stamping.

the procedure is so formal and IO just collects whatever is in, if she asks you - tell her that you\'ve lost
 
I think u need to get a duplicate passport

I think you need to get a duplicate passport from Indian consulate, I would suggest better consult ur lawyer. My friend had similar problem hwent to Indian consulate and explained them then he got a temporary passport for a year on which he had done stamping.
 
How does duplicate passport help ?

How does duplicate passport help ? I did get a new passport last year that does not have my visa.
 
I applied for new I94 card for my wife

Same situation happened to my wife. She lost her I94 card and as per our attorney\'s suggestion we applied for a new card by paying $85 bucks. There is separte form available for this. go to immigration site and check the correct form. But I don\'t know whether still we can get our passport stamped with out showing this I94 card.

the reason I told you don\'t worry

because I didn\'t have it myself doing stamping in Chicago. When I crossed US border back on AP I was told that I94 is optional and didn\'t file it, got stamp in my passport and AP. IO didn\'t even ask about I94.

immigration dept going to issue permanent resident visa ? on what document are they going to issue permanent resident stamp?
