URGENT HELP - Extension questions

Hi,

My parents are here on B1 Visitor Visa. They have a ten year multiple entry. Their I 94 expires on Sept 20th 2004.

We have applied in July 04 for six months extension and still waiting for the response from VSC.

1. IS there anyway to expedite the process to know if result at VSC? Like a fax number or fax letter format or a call in number

2. If the application is rejected what are the options to get a new date on the I 94 -

a. Can we travel to Canada or Mexico and on reentry request a 3 month stay?

b. If not can we travel to Europe and on reentry request a 3 month stay?

3. If the application in rejected how long can they legally stay without the 3 year or 5 year ban kickingin. We dont want to run into issues with their ten year multiple entry visa.


a. Does INS give a date by which they should exit US?

Visa extension approved

Just now received automated emails from the USCIS indicating that the case was approved.

The RD was July 10th.

I had faxed an enquiry to expedite. INS had promptly responded to the fax saying that they can expedite only under certain circumstances ( humanatarian grounds, illhealth) and this does not qualify.
However they did indicate that my case is currently under review and I should hear back soon.

Details that I had given:
Affidavit of support form
copy of their return air ticket
letter explaining why they want to stay
my bank statements ( proof of financial support)
COpy of I 94 form ( front and back) I did not send the original
However I wrote in a letter to let me know if they needed the originals


In the letter I explained the reason - tourism, see other places. since me and my wife are working we cannot take leave very often and depend on long weekends etc. Included an Itenerary of places to visit etc. This letter was signed by my parents.

I also assured that my parents would leave US and I would make sure they leave the US after the extension period. This was a letter that I had written separately.

congrats on your extension approval. Did you e-file your extension application? My parents' case has an RD of June 10th & still pending at VSC.
when i called customer service they said it is still within 30 days of the current processing date and that i should wait. so where did you fax the expedite request? can you share the fax number? Also have they updated the online case status for the case?
