Urgent Help -- Changes to Oath Ceremony

Hi, all, thanks for all being so helpful!
I have an urgent quesiton here -- has anyone requested change of location for the oath ceremony? A friend has just moved to LA after four years waiting on the naturalization process and pretty much giving up. However, the oath letter just arrived asking him to go to the ceremony in Boston. Does anyone know whether he can request change of location and reschedule the ceremony to LA instead of flying back to Boston on a short notice? Also time is not a critical factor given that he has been waiting for 4 years already!

Wow, first of all congratulations to your friend for finally getting the oath letter. I wish someone else has a better answer, but for me I wouldn't risk further delays. I would just take the plane and get the oath ceremony done in Boston. My best guess is that if your friend tries to change the location of the ceremony it might trigger sending the A-file to Los Angeles, and I am not sure if other consequences. I hope if someone has experience on this they might contribute something more useful.
