URGENT !! H4 Expires, Got H1 Consulate Approval - Is Premium H4 to H1 transfer safe ?

Hi,

My H4 Expires on 30th September. I have got my H1 Consulate Approval ( Chennai, India ). I initially thought about going back to India for the VIsa stamping. But my H1B petitioner has suggested to go for a Premium H4 to H1 transfer, which would take an additional $1700. Please suggest if this is a safe approach to this situation. Please reply at the earliest if possible.

Since you are already in the U.S. on an H catagory visa, you are eligible for a transfer to H-1B. In this process it is not required for you to stamp the new visa on your passport to start working.
