Urgent: H4- Been outside US for 1-1/2 yrs

Hi:

Urgent, please! I'm concerned because of a peculiar situation I'm in. My wife is appearing for an H-4 interview in Chennai on Feb 18, 05. Here are the details-

1. I was working in the US till Jun 2003 when I returned to India. I have since continued working with the same employer's office in India. My H-1 was never cancelled and is valid till Jun this year. I may be going back for another stint in the US with the same employer. What particular questions can my wife expect at the interview because of this?

2. In 2001, my salary was much less than that promised on the LCA because I was "on bench". How can my wife explain that at the consulate?

Reg Q2 ... its very very unlikely that the consulate cares about your 2001 salary details ... as long as u had the correct pay for, say, the last 6-12 months it should be fine.

Even an extremely anal person would look no further than 24 months back !
