URGENT: H1 Transfer + 3 Yr Ext.

I have been caught in a pretty desperate situation here. I changed my job using AC21 last November. My 140 was approved and I-485 pending for more than 6 months. My 6 years of H1 expire on March 11, 2006. The new employer filed for my H1 transfer and I had requested the attorney for 3 yr extension based on approved I-140.

Today (March 7, 2006), I got an email from the attorney that my H1 has been approved but it’s valid only until March 11, 2006 (6 yrs ending). They could file for another 3 year extension based on approved 140 but I would have to pay for it. This came as a real shock to me on top of the fact that I have no time to make a decision.

Anyways I have no choice but to file for the H1 ASAP while paying for it. But I still want to know if it's my fault or the attorney's. Because I have email trail to prove that I had explicitly stated that I want 3 year extension along with the transfer. All I want to know is, could they have filed for Transfer + Extension in the same application or would they have had to file two separate applications anyways?

I would really appreciate if you could answer to my question above

Regards!
