urgent *** H1 or EAD??

I was laid off last week and now my employer might call me back for 6 weeks to complete a project. I was on H1 at time of the layoff (had never used EAD). My question is : for the 6 weeks, should I join on H1 or EAD? I believe that the original H1 has not been cancelled yet?

Always, EAD is better unless you are planning to marry before getting GC approval.
