Urgent H1/H4 VIsa Question

My wife came to US on H4 visa stamp (through my previous employer) in dec 2006 and is valid till april 2009. I transfered my H1 to a new employer in March 2007 and at that they applied H4 (I-539) to my wife. Also during the same time My previous employer applied H1 for my wife.
My H1 transfer and my wife's H4 got approved and my i797 is valid till march 2010. Later My wife's H1 also got approbed and my wife is on H1 starting Oct 07. and she didnt get any project and there are no pay stubs. Now my wife wants to go to India. now what will be the situation? is there any way that my wife can enter USA without going for H1B Stamping?
1. Can my wife go to india and come back to US before march 2009 on her Valid H4 visa? (H4 visa is valid till april 2009)
2. if she comes on H4 visa, do they ask for paystubs at POE? What would be the typical questions asked at the POE for this scenerio?
3. If she comes on H4 visa, what will be her status? Her H1 will be cancelled? if her status will be H4 then it will be good for us. till what date she gets on I94?
4. if she comes on H4 visa and her status remains H4 then what happens to her SSN? She had ITIN first and then got SSN. So now which one do i need to use for tax filing? And also if her SSN goes invalid then do i need to apply for SSN again when she gets EAD?

1 yes, she can enter in to US using H4
2. If she enters in to country why would they ask for pay stubs,at the POE?
3. If she enters the country using H4, her sttaus will be H4 and the H1 will be invalidated and not valid anymore.
4. nothing happens to SIN. It doesn't matter what status the person is on after the SSN card is issued. She shouldn't be using ITIN any more, since she has SSN.
