Urgent. Got a call from Congressman's office

Guys,

Yesterday, I got a call from the local congressman's office that both my wife's and my case was approved yesterday. But so far, INS web site still shows the old message and I've not received any emails too. And the LUD has not changed after 07/26/04.

I called INS twice today and explained to the customer service rep my situation. As usual they were of not any help.

I'm getting worried. Not sure if our cases are really approved or not. Hopefully, the caseworker or the INS officer didn't make any mistake while seeing our case files.

Has anyone seen a case approved but INS website not updated and not got emails and LUD not changed.

Here's my details.
RD:10/15/02
FP1:12/05/02
FP2:07/16/04
LUD:07/21/04, 07/22/04, 07/23/04, 07/26/04

Thanks,
Prahalad

I do not see any reason to be worried. You should be getting the emails soon. I remember someone mentioning in the forums here that the emails are usually received at around 11 pm EST (I am not saying you should stay awake and check your emails).
You should get the good news very soon. Stop worrying and start smiling. :)

Thanks Hakoonamataata. But my case was approved yesterday afternoon sometime. It's been over 24 hrs. When do they send out emails?

Thanks again.

Hey My cases are approved on FRIDay au g 27 , they updated the website on AUG 31 , saying that this case was approved on aug 28,2004 ... So if ur Congressaman office says they areapproved , mans they are approved .

First off congrats !

My collegue got surprise mails (physical) approvals. Online got updated after Passport stamping. so don't worry !

Good luck.

Thanks a lot everybody. I feel relieved now. Thanks again.

Because of the backlog, I never expected to get approved this soon(though it's almost 24 months since I filed 485). After seeing so many from 2001 still waiting, I knew my turn was not anywhere near. I find it hard to believe that our cases are approved.

I wish you all speedy approvals. Your turn will be here soon.

This forum has been a tremendous support for me. I thank Rajiv Khanna and you all.

BTW, I forgot to mention- mine is a AC21 case. I joined my new employer in July 2004 and notified INS about the same. No RFE.

Thanks and Good luck to you all.

Take it easy!!!!!You'll get your approval shortly. Don't you complete your work well ahead of deadline and wait for the deadline to make it official, I think you are not in this category so it is difficult for you to understand the CIS official handling your case.

Goodluck!!!

When is the right time to call congressman/senator? My RD is Nov. 10th 2002 and I have done my FP2 on July 7th. 2004. I have not received any approval and my LUD has changed once after my FP2 on August 9th. Like many other 2001 & 2002 filers who don't have any approval, I am just getting a little edgy to see approvals for RD much later than mine. Any suggestions will be helpful.

Thanks everyone.

I will say wait for few more days , when the INS publish their next dates , call them. if you applies AP or EAD , ask them to do status inquiry .Because it is safe to do inquiry on AP and EAD rather to 485 , hoping that avoid RFE
