Urgent: First/Last Name Issue!!

Hi All,

I have a pending I-140 application and I am in the process of applying my I-485 pretty soon.

The issue I have is that my first and last names are in reverse order in all of my US records. Now I am in a predicament whether to continue as is or to put in the correct ordering in my I-485 application.

What should I do? Which approach is a safe?

My company attorney suggest I should use the correct name order moving forward. Is there any risks involved.

Anyone with similar experience?

Gurus please share your thoughts.

Followng are my details.

Given Name = <Correct name (My first name)>
Family Name = <Correct name (My last name)>

Date of Birth:: [Correct]
----------------
Does not have seperate fields for first & last names but has the following order
<Correct first name> <Correct last name>


Here's where the problem starts...

Social Security:: [Wrong]
------------------
First Name = Last name
Last Name = First name

Driver's License:: [Wrong]
--------------------
Same as above

And all other US documents:: [Wrong]
-----------------------------------
same as above


But...

I-140:: [Correct]
-------
Name of Alien (Family Name) = Last Name as in passport
First Name = First name as in passport

My wife has same problem with first name & last name convention in US documents. We mentioned this to the attorney and attorney suggested to go with correct name.

He made an affidavit letter and attached with the documents (485,EAD, AP etc.).

Hear EAD/ AP approved and of course 485 pending.
