Hello Gurus,

I changed my status from F1 to H1 while in US. I didn't complete my entire Master's program. I just completed my 1st semester. After that I started working on H1. I didn't go outside US to get H1 stamped in my passport. Now, I have consular interview of my Green Card. Potential question that I can expect is: " Why did you change status from F1 to H1 while in US without coming to US consulate in India for getting H1 stamped"?

I am sure- there are many people who are in the same situation. If anyone of you have faced similar question during consular interview- would you please post or email < neelpam1@yahoo.com > your experiences.

Your experiences will be highly valuable.

I don't think you have a problem...

If they ask that question, answer truthfully. You are not obligated to come to India for every visa stamping or change of status. As long as you were in legal status through out your US stay, do not worry. Also, remember you are attending an immigrant visa interview. Immigrant intent will NOT disqualify you from getting a visa! Good luck;)
