URGENT EAD REnewal question: What docs do we need?

Hello,

My EAD is set to expire May 15, 04 however our visa has just been extended by our employeer and the receipt notice for the visa extension is expected to reach us by first week of May.

According to INS/BCIS/WHATEVERTHATISNOW, we can use this receipt notice itself to apply for the EAD renewal. But in our case we will not be receiving the visa extension receipt notice before 90 days.

Well the visa extension receipt would reach us close to a week's time so how do we use this to extend the EAD.

Could someone point us towards the exact steps and documents that we need to get the EAD renewed before the actual expiry date? Appreciate your help.

Following are the documents required.

• 2 photos which fits INS requirement with A# and name written with pencil on back.
• A check $120.00 for I-765 renewal fee made in the name of "Immigration and naturalization service"
• Original Form I-797 D (from last EAD)
• I -765 Renewal Application
• A copy of last EAD (front and back)
• A copy of Form I-94 Departure Record (front and back)
• A copy of I-485 Receipt Notice
• A copy of last I-765 Receipt Notice
• Marriage Certificate for secondary applicant.
• Color copy of your drivers license

Apply atleast 5 to 6 months in advance.
 
thanks for your reply. By my situation is little bit different. I am not applying EAD using 485. My EAD is thru L2. I dont have 90 days time and my extension approval document. Just the receipt notice of my visa extension. What can I do in this case to get the renewal EAD or interim EAD before my EAD expires.

Whbat is Original Form I-797 D (from last EAD) mean ?

Can any one peae post the cover letter for EAD ... I've seen cover letters for APs but not for EADs and I am NOT able to search in this new version of the forum softwaree .... Please help ....

Form I-797D is the mailer in which the EAD was affixed and sent to you by CIS.

The letter for EAD renewal doesn't have to be in any specific format. You could just write a plan letter addressing the service center and include your name, A# and address and also state that you have a pending 485 petition with the service center and you are applying for an EAD renewal. Also state the list of all documents that you are enclosing with the application.
You could have a single for EAD for both you and your wife or seperate letters for each.

It is important to have a subject like

EAD Renewal for XXX (A# 1111)
