Urgent - Does USPS forward INS mails?

Gurus ... do you know if USPS forwards INS mails after I changed my address? I did submit the letter forwarding request on time and its already functioning OK. I also updated my new address with USCIS ... about a month ago. But I can't be really sure if they will still mail the new EAD to the new address? Do any of you have experience with this?

I did receive an INS mail few weeks ago forwarded to the new address. But it was a reply to my status inquiry. Does the envelopes with EAD have anything printed like 'DO NOT FORWARD' etc? Please help!

To add insult to injury ...

I called USCIS today and found out that they have "NO RECORD" of changing address last month. I can't really believe how inefficient this office can be!!! Who is running this ... the only reason they are getting away with this gross inefficiency is that they are dealing with foreigners mostly. US citizens would have kicked their **** ...

Not only that, the lady on the phone could not access the records and she asked me "did you try to access your file online this morning?" ... I did not. But that means that if you access your records on your pc ... something may get screwed up on the database too. How nice!!!

USPS update

In addition, the lady at USCIS customer service said that USPS is not supposed to forward mails, but some people still get. And when I called USPS, the lady said they will not forward and send back ... though I actually received an INS letter (just a reply to an inquiry though) last month. God knows what's going on ... I'm even more confused now!!!

I would call them again. Sometimes they say conflicting things. After I submitted my RFE, NCSC once told me it would take 30 days to process, when I called again they said 90 days. (I got approved in about 40).

Anyways... I do not see how logging on from home can mess anything up, all of us do it.

Forwarding, I do know that most of the time they do not forward mails. Since you got the inquiry answer to your new address, I don't see how you wouldnt be able to get the approval notice as well.

Good Luck!!!

Request

Kayzeeturk ... as your signature says you just got the EAD approved, you probably have the new envelope still. Can you please check if the envelope containing EAD says anything like "DO NOT FORWARD" ? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

I didnt receive the actual EAD yet. It didnt come in today, should come in tomorrow, or saturday. Will let you know once i have it.

I have the dates in my signature. This was my first EAD. My requirements were different since i'm a college grad, but the card i'm getting and the procedure is the same as you guys.

It is a plain simple envelope which says that it is "US Official Mail". I got it two days after they said it has been sent.

Got it ...

It arrived in the mail today ... as you say, it's a simple white envelope with no USCIS markings, no I don't know why the USPS won't forward it (many has complained on this forum). Thanks for everyone's response.

Did the EAD come directly to your new address or did it get forwarded from your old address ?

thanks

Forwarded ...

Well, the EAD envelope had the old address on it ... so it must have been forwarded.

USPS forwarded mails usually have that bright yellow sticker at the bottom ....

Just so that we understand how long it takes to update the address ...

when did you call in to make your address change ?
when was your EAD approved ?

Since it still has the old address, maybe did you change your address just before the approval date ??
