Urgent!! Do one need to call and set up an appointment for FP ??

I have two concerns regarding FP.
1. Can one take his/her FP before the scheduled begining date mentioned on the FP Notice?
2. Do one need to call the local Federal office to set up an appointment for the FP? or simply drop by ????

I dont know if you can get yr FP before time, but you do not need an appointment. You show up within the dates listed on your notice.
