Urgent,do I need to renew my EAD???

Hello,

My husband is primary applicant,I485 pending, 140 approved.he was H1 and he's using EAD working now.

I was H1b and I quit my job last year, I applied EAD but never used it, it expired on May this year, I'm with my little baby at home now and I don't plan to get a new job. Do I need to renew EAD if I don't need to work?
Somebody told me I have to renew it to keep my status, but I think I'm AOS, I don't need to get EAD, am I right?

I'm in similar state and had same question but just sent the EAD application to be on "SAFE" side whatever that means :cool:
 
yes, you're correct. You don't need an EAD unless you want to work. You dont need H1 or H4 either. You are in good status with the pending AOS.

I think EAD is one of the benefits they will give it to you when you are in AOS. My question is if you want to renew your EAD in the future, Can you do it with the expired EAD ? I suggest you to check with your attorney.
