My friend qualifies under the advanced degree quota to start work this year - however the company says that he cannot as the company has exhausted its quota for the year. They are suggesting that he start in a different country and then get into the US in October 2006. Are ther any other options?
A bit more background:
My friend has an MS from the US and previously was working in the US on an H1B visa. Subsequently he left the US for a year and is now looking for jobs again in the US.
He is quite puzzled - is there no way that the company can get him on the US payroll this year? Any suggestions?
