Urgent--Company Division sold- AC21

My 485 processing started at Vermont center in Sep '05.
My Division with all employees is bought by a bigger company.
My companies lawyer is saying my current GC process becomes obsolete has to be started with a new with the new company.
Is it true,
this would cause problem for me as My Wife is working on EAD and whole [process ahs to be started again.

Many of my friends are in the following case which is similar but not 100% the same with you.
- Their company got bought by bigger company. But, the new company lawyer could retrain all their previous green card processes with the old company. Some actually received GC already.
I am not sure about a division of one company got bought by other company. For my previous job, a division I used to work for got outsource to smaller company on some contract, all H1B people stay back and change to other jobs. One got GC recently (he used to be developer, but due to that outsource, he moved to QA and got GC completed with developer job) -> NO ONE ASKED
I guess that could be another solution for you. SAFE and EASY.
