A. My husband and I got selected for DV2005 and had the interview at the consulate early september. Now, we got called to the consulate of the US in our home country to to finish the process before september 30th, 2005.
B. At the same time my husband's I-485 got approved. He is my dependent in the EB1 process that I have started earlier. I am the principal applicant and my I-485 is still pending!!!!
C. Even worse: Today, we got a mail from INS asking us again for another set of fingerprints even after my husband's I-485 approval...I do not understand what's going on in INS?
1. Can we assume that since my husband's I-485 got approved mine will be also approved? Otherwise it does not make sense to me since I signed the Affidavit of Support for my husband...
2. Should we cancel the appointment in the consulate since my husband's I-485 got approved? Or at this stage that will be stupid thing to do.
3. Are there any major problems giving up the EB1 process and opting for the DV Lottery instead? Can we, at this stage, give up the whole EB1 process or it's too late? The reason I am saying this is that my I-485 is still pending and who knows how long it's going to take to approve it...
I know for sure that nobody can have two green cards. That's clearly against the law.
What's the best way to deal with this?
I appreciate your help.
Roberta
