urgent attorney question

I changed employer after 180 days and work in another company with my EAD card. The attorney who proceess my GC is FDBL. A fewer weeks ago I sent her an email to ask my information, she has not replied at all. I suspect that is because of my leaving the old company. But now I dont have any new attorney to process my GC yet. I have a question, although I left my previous company, I already paied the service fee to the attorney(actually paid by company), does the relationship between the attorny and me terminate by the time I left the company? If it is true, what will attornry do if she receive any document from INS, such as RFE, she will forward it to me or just return to INS? I am very worry about it, should I call INS to check my status myself. Gurus, please give me your ideas! Thanks a lot.

In case Lawyer is not responding, get another Good lawyer immediately. No delay.

In case of I-485, Attorney represents you not the company no matter who paid the services fee. You sign the G-28 allowing him to represent you. Ethically, lawyer should keep representing you but in the light of AC21 many a lawyer find themselved in confused state. As company is the one they get business from, they never want to annoy them.

So you simply ask your lawyer if they can still able to represent you, if not go and get another lawyer asap.

They may ask more money !

I know a friend who was in the same situation and the same attorney asked for 1000$ more now since he changed his employer.

Here they may ask more money try talking to them.

I think legally they\'re still responsible

I am not absolutely positive, but pretty sure that legally they\'re obligated to represent you as the service fee is already paid to them. I believe they have to represent you for all matters of this case irrespective of who paid them the fee to REPRESENT YOU!
But.. I\'m not an expert on this topic, I just heard something like that before so I thought I let you know.
(Think about it this way- if they\'re just rendering services that they\'re already paid for, even if it was your ex employer who paid them to represent you!)

not so simple

Acutally I dont even have chance to contact them directly. I sent several emails and no repsonse at all. I called them and only recipest picked up the phone, no reply also. I just wonder even if I go to their office, I still can not see them face to face. What action I should take to make them give me an clear answer at lease. I just dont know what they want, if only money, ok. If else, who knows.
