Urgent! AP required for emergency reason

I applied for AP two months back. I haven\'t received approval yet. But now I need to make an Urgent trip to India as soon as possible because of family emergency reasons. I am planning to go to local office of INS and get AP for travel. Can someone please help me on this by letting me know what is the procedure involved at local office, what documents I need to carry to local office to get AP and any of their personal experiences at local INS offices for getting AP. I will be going to Dallas,TX local INS office.

I\'ve never done it before, but As far as I know to get emergency AP you need to bring to INS office the letter from the doctor about condition of family member (my lawer told me it should be on hospital letterhead and with very strong content) OR the letter from your current employer, explaining the situation and asking to issue AP for you.
I\'ve got this info from my lawer today. I just asked for informational purposes, so may be there are some more details.

I guess u should take the documents u would have used to apply for advance parole to the INS. Check with your attorney he may know what to do.
