URGENT ADVICE NEEDED PLEASE!! Sorry wrong info given in the earlier post

I filed my 485 as a dependent on July 2004. My husband had filed on Oct 2002 and got his approval on feb 2005. Mine is still pending approval.
I recently checked the www.immigration.com site and it is showing May 2004 as the processing date.
I had created a portfolio for my case on the INS site and the last update date is July 19, 2005. So it looks like they moved my file on that date.
I called up INS to check on my case and the representative told me that my FBI name check is still pending. I explained the whole situation to her but she kept on saying FBI name check is pending. Now I am not sure if she saw it on my records or thats a standard reply.
What should I do to expedite my name check process??
I am VERY VERY worried about this. Please can someone guide or help?
 
First of all do not panic and relax,

It is assumed that the principal catagory is EB3,

The most important fact ppl who are in EB3 are facing visa unavailability , hopefully this situation would end on Oct 1st 2005.

Many ppl are sharing that they are receiving thsi 'pending name-check' reason. noone is sure about it, even few ppl who was cleared name-check when they call they learned ur case is pending becz 'name-check is pending' and they got surprised 'How come'????

Here is million dollor quesiton, Did u talk to 800 (customer support), or did u talk with TSC directly?

I believe 800/customer service ppl have absolutly no knowledge and access on that info about name-check.
but TSC/officers do have.

if u haven't talked to TSC, take some breath, relax, and call to TSC directly here is how to connect them directly. share us after what u learn form them.

First call 800 (you are going to check status by phone )
then follow this

Press 1 for english
Press 2
Press 6
Press 1 for SRC/receipt no
Press 1 to confirm
Press 3
then Press 3 or 4 when u hear option, "If you have file multiple petitions and got seperated". Select that option, this will connect you to TSC direct.

Be nice and polite, and show ur patientce to them. trust me in this way you will dig it out info more than u expect. all you need is relax and smile. :D

And do not "Very Very worried" just little 'worry' :D . becz u are not alone in this boat there are three flowers in my knowledge are also in same boat

i should be in your list. now you need to give out the new list, six so far? i called tsc/fbi a couple times. looks that i have to be patient. any other weapon you can lend me?

Unfortunately 'Saras' doesn't fall in this cagatoery,

All It can be done is to assign 'Cauli-flower' :D becz he is "sweet potato" :D .

Sure, no problem, It would be pleasure to do so, however your name still doesn't qualify in 'Flower' catagory, but a new catagory has been added as 'papaya' and your name has been enrolled, :D :D

Well best thing I can share is Practice your faith(Whatever u believes are), pray and trust on God, make ur faith very strong and unshakeable, becz we don't make things happen but God do. if G.C has written in your luck it would come on right time :D.

I don't have too much story about my name check. I just cannot be patient. Looks that I have to be currently. My wife got her 485 approved in june while mine is pending. I call TSC & FBI couple times. TSC said: your name check is pending while FBI said: I cannot tell you... I searched in this site, taking some suggestion. I sent FOIPA request by fax and received feedback, it took exactly two weeks.

In the letter, FBI said: “To promptly response to requests, we concentrate on identifying main files in central records systeam at FBI headquarters. No records pertinent to your FOIPA request were located by a search of the automated indices”.

OK, no record about me in their system. GOOD or BAD? It also said: “you may file an administrative appeal by writing to the Co-Director, Office of InformatAion and Privacy, United states department of justice…..”

I guess I need to send request to their co-director? and I am looking for other weapon. Upset! endless! it's been 4 years already since we started the application.

I notice more and more people are stuck in name check and other people maybe in the same boat but do not realize it yet. Frustrated!
 
Name check is a curse

This "Name Check" process may be the worst thing to have happened to the immigration process. There are so many people that have been held up by this incompetent system. The truth is that this system was put in place as a knee jerk reaction to 9/11 and it was never properly implemented. Although a majority of cases do not face problems with the Name Check process there are a lot of people who just can't seem to get through this mess. I suggest you write letters to the head of the Name Check division and keep following up till they are forced to act.

You are right. OK, I would take you suggestion and send letter to the responsible person every week untill they react.

Normally I called TSC once a week and always got friendly reply. Today, the lady just refused to answer any of my question. :mad:
