If your marriage was real and you are still married, there is nothing to worry, just send in the documents they need, and take it easy. They might caal you both for one more interview, or if they think your marriage is not real, they might keep the case in processing status fora long time, just to see if you marriage is real. but for you to work and travell and live a normal life this will not change any thing

The letter only extend expired green card for one year

You can apply for citizenship when it is 3 years minus 90 days* since your original green card approval, even if your I-751 is still pending. 3 years minus 90 days is not exactly equal to 2 years and 9 months; count the days carefully because they will reject your N-400 if it is 1 day too early.

*provided that you have completed a full 3 years of marriage when you apply -- the 90-day headstart only is for the years of GC, not the years of marriage

I have married 3 years.

If they deny it you can file a motion to reopen, if that fails you can appeal. If the first appeal fails you can appeal again in a higher court. If all appeals fail they will order you to leave the US, but it's very unlikely to get to that point if you have a bona fide marriage.

Meanwhile, make sure you renew your driver's license/state ID and get a Social Security card without the employment restriction wording on it (if your SS card isn't already unrestricted), so you will have documents that enable you to work while you fight the I-751 denial (if it is denied). With the unrestricted SS card combined with state ID/driver's license, you can obtain employment without having to show the GC.

I-751 Case Open (filed when divorced)

My fiance was married for 3yrs in a marriage that just did not work out. She got divorced from him and filed for permanent residence. Her case is open and it's been about 3yrs and she is still waiting word on her case. My question.... can she remarry with her case being open? I am in love with her and we are meant to be together. She has been waiting this long that we don't want to do something that will alter her case but on the flip side of the coin.... we would like to move on with our lives together.

The million dollar question: Can someone who is legally divorced and has filed a I-751 (who has the case open for about 3yrs) move on and remarry without affecting her case? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
