**URG**prev. employer 485 case****

Hi,

Please reply ASAP if you know answer to this question.

My previous employer filed for 485 last year.
My current and previous H1s are expiring in October.

If I want to continue with CURRENT employer... should I get a
new H1 from CURRENT employer ?
(or)
getting EAD for old employer will be OK even after CURRENT H1
expires ?

My current employer's lawyer is asking me to apply for EAD through CURRENT employer. Is this CORRECT ?

Please let me know.

EAD is not tied to any employer, however you will be applying for EAD based on your pending I-485 thru your previous employer.
You can apply for EAD by yourself, lawyer is no required.

You can also apply for H1 extension before October.
 
H-1B is a lot better than EAD. in case you had some trouble with your 485 you could still stay with H-1B. but if you were on EAD then you would be deadly dead.
 
ok, just reiterating.

apply for H1 extension before current H1 dies
apply for EAD also
apply for AP as well (just in case).
