Updating SSN after/while passport stamping.

Hi friends,

I did not change/update my SSN card when we went for passport stamping, it been a while and I am wondering is there any time limit for SSN renewing with GC status?
Also could any body tell me the process for SSN update?

PP stamped sometime in Jan.
Card received sometime in Feb.
 
All you do is go to the SSA office and fill out another application and inform them you want the restriction removed from your SSN. They will take your info and look at your card, ID, etc., and then check to see if you are updated as being an approved GC person in their system. Sometimes it takes awhile for the info to be updated. They asked if it had been at least 30 days since I had been approved before they accepted the application. Once they take your info they give you a receipt in about 2-4 weeks you will be sent a new SS card with the restriction removed. There is no time limit for when this has to be done.
