hi guys. i 'm a noob here.

i became a citizen a year ago and i have new american name. so i took my SSN card, passport and the certicate to DMV SC to update my new name on my drivers license card.

but they said it doesn't prove anything and they told me that i actually need a proof, maybe some kind of forms.

well, where do i get the proof of my new name change? i'm in michigan right now and will become a michigan resident very soon. do i have to go back to SC to get these forms or proof?

if you guys can give me the phone number or any place websites where i can get any help on this matter would be great.

thanks.

joe

Your court approved name change should be stamped on the back of your Naturalization certificate.

That is the proof that DMV is asking for.
