Okay, it might be pretentious of me to say I have the oldest pending I-140 but nobody with an oldest case has come forward yet!

I got some news. Here is the e-mail I sent my friends yesterday and I thought that you guys might want to know also:

Dear friends,

No no, I am not approved yet!
But here is a little update.

After numerous phone calls to Congresswoman Brown’s office, I finally got my finger prints done for a second time on March 1, 2005…
This is a big step in the right direction!
I also found out, again through the Congresswoman’s office, that my name check at the FBI was completed…

...

These two things being completed, it means that I got my security checks all cleared away (youpi!)

My lawyer has also been busy trying to find out what is going on with my case.

...

As I was saying in my previous e-mails, both my applications were sent on March 11, 2003 (you read right, 2003!)

Presently, the Texas Service Center (where all Florida applications go) is reviewing I-140 that were sent around January 7, 2005 (not a typo here!!!) and I-485 that were sent around February 14, 2003.
As you can see, my I-140 is WAY OVER DUE!!!
For the longest time, my lawyer and I have been trying to find out why.

Well, my lawyer seemed to have had some luck. She finally got in touch with somebody from the local office, somebody that she should not have had the phone number to. In anycase, after a lot of yelling by this lady about being contacted directly, my lawyer explained to her that she went through all the formal channels (the very unefficient 1-800 number, the American Immigration Lawyer Association (AILA) liaison, and the Congresswoman’s office) to no avail. Well, turns out that this lady became very nice and helpful. She looked my file up…

Well people, guess what: they had mistakenly sent my file to Central Records. What is Central Records you will ask? As my lawyer explains it, and I quote: “It is the great abyss where all of the files go when they are supposedly completely adjudicated and have been closed.”

But now, my file is back in TSC, where it should be!!!

The lady is now trying to find out more information on what is happening with my case.

Please everybody, lets send positive energy/prayers/you name it so the approval comes around fast.

So, this is a little update… Not there quite yet but positive nevertheless.

This is a perfect example of when to use the emergency number.

If the number becomes abused, then situations like this would not get resolved.

we can try to guage your pain... but only one who is going through can tell how frustrating it is. Never the less we pray for your speedy approval of both 140 and 485.

Good luck.
