2 Ammendments debated yesterday;

1. Which would have allowed more preference to Legal Immigrants over Illegal immigrants in the point system WAS DEFEATED.

2. Ammendment that would make employers first advertise jobs to Americans before hiring temporary workers was ACCEPTED.

100 Ammendments still to go. Today they are discussing Corynn ammendment which would make you inadmissble if you were ordered by court to be deported but didn't honor that request and among other things, 1 drunk driving offense would make you deportable.

is this a good thing or bad thing?

is it a good thing or a bad thing? please explain more. Is there anything among the many bills and amendments about dismissed convictions? Where do you get your information from? TV, internet?

question for Want

Lets assume that this bill passes with the mentioned amendments. Do you think it would have an impact on the people waiting in line right now? As one can argue that it'll take years for the law to be registered and fully implemented. :confused:

Bad for people in line. There are certain triggers for the new temp worker program but 12-20 mil would've fingerprinted within 90 days of passage of law & get a probationary card to prove work status in the U.S

All the ammendments etc that were geared for Legal Immigrants have failed so far.

Family ammendments will be voted on at 7pm. Doesnt look good as most of the Senators are against family reunification including nuclear families.

Want, I am a little confused by reading your previous post. Is the four year porvision in a seperate Ammendment, or it is in the final bill? Do you know when Senates will vote on that Ammendment if any, or to vote on the finally bill?
Thanks for keep updating with all of us!
