Update on my case 2

I inquired National Customer Services and spoke to IIO regarding the delay on my case on 1/22/07 , the lady was very kind and very helpfull , she even questioned why they are holding my application, while my background check was completed in april 2006. She initated un inquery.

Today I received a letter from USCIS, NewYork City , Here is what they said

on 01/22/2007 you, or the designated representative , contactred us about your case.

The status of this service request is:

Based on your request we researched the status of this case. We are actively processing this case. However,we have to perform additional review on this case and this has caused a longer processingtime. If you do not receive a decision or other notice of action from us within 6 months of this letter, please call customer services number.

Unquote

Please help me understand this , is my back ground really cleared and that they are only waiting to finish reviewing my file?

You are in the "we'll get around to your case when we feel like it" pile. Go to your congressman and/or senators web sites, get in touch with their immigration aide, and show them that letter.

That was how I got out of that pile.

Well I guess thats slightly better than being stuck in namecheck. Hopefully now you contacted them it will revive the process.
