You are aware that Ms.Murthy has sent letters to 150 congressmen/senators regarding Texas funding problem. In todays's chat I have asked her about any update on the issue and below is the reply from her.

"The entire process is frustrating for the senators and congress people and the INS/BCIS which complains about insufficient funding by congress. We have been contacted and we are in touch with some congressional aids who plan to help us. However,we realize it is a slow uphill battle. We have people in our office who want to take an active part in lobbying and fighting for the rights of immigrants and we encourage it since we believe it is the only way the system works. We expect some movement in processing but nothing concrete yet."

Let everyone hope for fast positive results!.

Call for sending Thank you note

Murthy and their attorney’s definitely deserve a note of Thanks from all of us in the forum (my humble opinion). They are taking their time and effort to help us out and the least we can do is send a Thank you note to them. Here is the email address law@murthy.com. Perhaps on the subject we can put Thank you for your help in seeking funding for Texas Service Center so that the emails get routed appropriately. It will only take two minutes of your time to do this

I really appreciate Murthy and their attorney’s work for us. However I don't think it can solve our backlog soon. It is not a suitable resolution now. Folks, the root problem of fund-lacking are not only TSC's but other centers’. Why are other centers processing Nov. 2001 cases of I-485 while TSC is working one year behind them? This is an excuse TSC gave to Murthy and their attorney. TSC is trying to avoid blames from the immigration side. I think Murthy and their attorney can write something to congress or senate, but should not move focus to that. If so, our cases could not be approved within a short time of period. I wish Murthy and their attorney suggest TSC transfer part of I-485 cases to other centers so as to make the process even within four service centers. Remember tightened budget is nationwide problem under current economic situation. Wish Murthy and their attorney could find a better way to help us.

Reply to Blame TSC

There might be some truth in your interpretation but do you think that Murthy will take the time to send out letters to 150 congress people, get in touch with some congressional aides and start to push for funding if that route was a waste.
TSC could genuinely have a lot more cases than other service centers and lesser number of people than other service centers. About funding, if you don’t ask for it you don’t get it (as simple as that).
Murthy is asking for funding (long term solution), Rajiv Khanna is asking for workload balancing (with the petition, short term solution), and perhaps we could send up letters to the BCIS director, the new assistant director etc. (to get a short term solution for our problem) this way we get covered from all angles.

I still strongly believe that Murthy deserves a Thank you note for their efforts.

Someone that I know works in a senator's office. Last year when I asked him about problems at TSC, he said they are swamped with applications and have had a very heavy burden.

Note

Here is the response from Murthy on the Thank you note I sent her and her colleagues. A kind word of appreciation does go a long way. Hopefully TSC will start approving I-485 and we will have more reason to cheer.

A BIG thank you for Ms. Murthy for her time, help and efforts.

I also heard that Mr. Carl Shusterman (www.shusterman.com) is also big in Washington DC circles. He has given some speaches in the US Congress about immigration issues. Does anyone think he might be of any help?
