Hi all!
My oath is on 17th of September in Boston.
I am going to apply for passport and update with SSA the same day.
Any ideas how can I do that as fast as possible in the area where the ceremony is going to be???
The Hall is downtown so is there Post office and SSA office near to it???
Thanks in advance!
Best Regards

I don't think update with SSA is necessary

Congratulations. Oath at Faneuil Hall?

There is a post office right there, but you should know that all post offices do not accept passport applications. Closest PO that does is at Milk st.

Go to the US Passport Office at:

Thomas P. O'Neill Federal Building
10 Causeway Street,
Suite 247
Boston, MA 02222-1094

Before you hand it over, make sure you make a copy of your naturalization certificate (yes, you can make a copy for yourself)

Coincidentally, the SSA office is also at the same building. But what do you want to update at the SSA?

Well, it is necessary to update SSA with your immigration status. When I got my Oath Ceremony done, one of the Officers informed us to go two weeks after getting the Natz Certificate and update our records with SSA.

Good luck

Your comments just says the officer asked you, but not why it is necessary.
If you have a social security card without any restrictions, the only reason you need to report it is for their benefits. If you are nowhere close to retirement, you can take your own sweet time.
Going same day may not work out well if the computers are not updated with your naturalization information. In such cases, they will either ask you to come back later, or hold it for processing later ... which can cause delays. Best is to go after a couple of weeks.

You already have a unrestricted SS Card by virtue of a GC.
But if you are over excited about your Citizenship then go right ahead, if you are no where near 65 Years old there will be no effect updating your status with SSA.

What about E-Verify and any other possible future government use of databases?

I think it's smarter to update one's citizenship status with SSA in a timely fashion, rather than assuming that SSA doesn't need accurate information until one reaches age 65.

Personally, I made passport application my first priority after naturalization, so currently I'm waiting to receive my US passport and have my naturalization certificate returned to me. After that, I plan to visit SSA at my earliest convenience.

If you don't update your citizenship status with SSA, eVerify may fail to verify you.

Visiting the SSA the same day as the oath is not advisable, as there needs to be some data transfer between USCIS and SSA before the SSA can properly update your status. Wait at least a week after the oath.
