Unused H1B Petition

Hi,

Company A processed my H1B visa in 2005. Its validity is expiring in September 2008. Due to personal reasons I did not go for stamping and joined company B’s team in India (Company B is an American based company as well). I came to US 2 times on B1 visa for company B’s work since 2006. Since I came to US on B1 after my H1B was approved, does my H1B petition become invalid automatically?

Now company A and B both are asking me to join them in US. Company B is only ready to transfer H1B visa but not process a new one.

Can I go for stamping for company A or I need a new petition altogether to join company A?

OR

Will I be able to transfer the H1B petition of company A to B and then go for stamping so I can continue working for company B?

My H1 petition was approved in August 2007 from Company A. As my husband had to travel to US, I entered US in L2 and got my EAD andbeen working from October 2007. Now my husband is planning to change his status to H1 and is applying for that. They are also applying for H4 along with it.
I have a couple of queries.
1. Can I go back in October to other countries ( India , Cannada or Mexico ) and get my H1 stamped and change my status changed back to H1 from H4.
2. Is my H1 petition still valid after getting my status changed to H4.
