Hi, my I - 485 (EB3) was approved on 12/14/2004 and I got my I-551 stamping at the local USCIS office on 12/30/2004. I haven't received my plastic card yet and there has been no change in the onlinse status of my I-485 case, it still says 'this case was approved on 12/14 and a notice has been mailed ....'. Here is my question -
I am planning on taking an upaid leave of absence for 2 months and will be spending 1 month in India and 1 month here taking care of some peronal matters. I have no intention of leaving the sponsiring employer (current employer) anytime soon. Would taking unpaid leave of absence be treated as leaving the employer? Would this jeopardize my chances of citizenship in future? Could any of you gurus please provide some guidance/share your opinion. Thanks.

Leave of absence specially only for few months should not jeopodize your naturalization. LOA entitles you to maintain the seniority. Your date of hire will still be the same which is Ist hiring date. As long as you come back to the same company after being on LOA, you will be okay. Enjoy your time off. :)
