i collected 66 2001 filers in my profile. This morning, i saw 13 of them got either approved or transfered. i think this is a good sign for us. Almost 20% of 2001 filiers in my profiles got processed. We all have hope to be toughed soon. What do you think? :confused:

Just be patient guys. our turn will be here any day!!!!

Just hang in there..

I know how tough it must be waiting for more than 2.5 yrs..I am an Oct '02 filer and I get so depressed, irritated, aggravated, frustated.......when days just pass on without any movt. whereas filers later than me get approved. I can not even begin to imagine what you must be going thru'...

But atleast the BCIS is moving now and there is hope and I hope you and all the other 2001 filers get their approval within next week! Good Luck!

Well. after reading about long lines in some local CIS offices, I'm not that sure that the transfer is such a good thing.

And BTW the trend of faster processing for 2001/earlier 2002 filers it seems is now gone: they are busy with 2003 guys.
Something's wrong with their strategists' brains.

ombudsman is useless as well

RD = 12/03/01
LUD = 01/06/04
Name checking cleared at 02/25/04
FD = 10/07/03

06/22/04 E-mailed Ombudsman and was told will get a response from USCIS in 45 days. It has been 37 passed. I will bug them again on 46th day!

let's be :cool:

What does the congressional enquiry tell you

Hi Mulan,

What do the congressional enquiry folks tell you as "name check " is the last process?

So your name check cleared in 6 months ago and you donot have an answer so I guess the 2001 folks all will have to wait till when?

we got an email from fbi about name check:

This is in reference to your facsimile dated June 29, 2004, concerning your immigration status.

A review of the Name Check Program database revealed that a request from the U. S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) for you was received on January 15, 2003, and is currently in a pending status. Due to increased national security concerns, in December 2002 to early 2003, the USCIS submitted an additional 2.7 million name checks for processing to the FBI. Although 99.5% of these cases have been processed, we are still clearing the remaining cases. While this is causing delays in the processing of subsequent USCIS submissions, we are working diligently to process requests as expeditiously as possible.

I am sorry we are unable to be of more assistance at this time.

It doesn't make sense at all.
As I posted at:
http://immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?p=861811#post861811
USCIS has approved at least 27 I-485 cases filed in May 2004 only in about 60 days, of course including Name Check.
There is no reason to keep 2001 filers remain.

gc_2000: I got exactly same messge from FBI as yours. It looks like FBI is using kind of standard writing. After reading several cases, I am thinking the name check is the major reason for delay. ic
